Is this health insurance?
No. Health insurance is a comprehensive insurance plan that typically pays directly to doctors or hospitals to pay for their services. The Hospital Accident Plan Plus is a limited benefit plan that pays indemnity-based benefits directly to you or whomever you choose while you are hospitalized, so you can help pay your bills while you are recovering.
Who can enroll?
If you are between the ages of 18-70 and live in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, DC, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Tennessee, Wyoming, you are eligible to enroll.
When do my benefits begin?
Your Hospital Accident Plan coverage starts upon payment. You may use the cash benefits to help cover outstanding medical bills or your regular monthly expenses. You can actually use it for anything you need. It's your money!
Are there any other benefits?
Yes, you are eligible for three doctor visits per year (for any reason). You'll also be covered for emergency room visits due to a covered accident. You'll also receive a $10,000 dollar additional lump sum benefit if you are hospitalized for 30 consecutive days or more as a result of a covered accident. All benefits are reduced 50% at age 70 or older.
